OLSPS Marine, a Cape Town based company, has been involved in fisheries resource analysis, data collection and management solutions for 29 years. OLSPS Marine has not only developed innovative and world-leading software solutions, but also independently developed complex stock assessment models and reviews and consults on such models internationally.
Client Base
The Fisheries Electronic Logbook Solutions (Fisheries eLog) unit has a client base spanning several countries and jurisdictions around the world. Presently certified by the UK (MMO, DEFRA), New Zealand (MPI, FishServ), USA (NOAA), Australia (AFMA) and soon Canada (DFO) Fisheries Management Authorities and used in South Africa and Spain.
OLSPS MARINE HISTORY
OLSPS Marine, previously known as OLRAC SPS, was founded in 1989 by Dr Amos Barkai and Dr Mike Bergh, to provide analytical fishery management consultancy services to the South African and International fishing industries.
In 2016, OLSPS Marine was borne from OLRAC SPS, consisting of two units dedicated to Fisheries Management Solutions and Electronic Logbook Solutions (Fisheries eLog).
