FISHERIES ELECTRONIC LOGBOOK SOLUTIONS

The Olrac Electronic Logbook (eLog) Solution was developed by OLSPS. This software is a sophisticated, affordable and multi-level eLog for the recording, reporting and management of commercial fishing data. The Olrac eLog can be highly customised to include any number of fish species, fish products and grades, fishing methods and different fisheries management regimes. The Olrac eLog is currently used globally by fishers, companies, fishing fleets and sector managers in fisheries of various sizes, from small-scale artisanal to factory vessels.

CORE PRODUCTS

Olrac_DDL-150x150

The Olrac Dynamic Data Logger (OlracDDL)

Olrac Dynamic Data Logger – A touchscreen ready, software solution for the recording, reporting and management of commercial fishing data. OlracDDL can record ANY type of data during fishing operations, in real-time or post-event, using various data entry tools. OlracDDL can also be adapted for other commercial vessel types such as cargo, cruiser and other transport ships. Recorded data can be summarised into aggregated compliance, commercial and scientific reports. Output formats can be fully digital or hardcopy-ready in HTML and PDF formats.

Olrac_DDM_-150x150

The Olrac Dynamic Data Manager (OlracDDM)

Olrac Dynamic Data Manager – A web-based data and reports management system for use alongside OlracDDL. It reads data and reports from any number of OlracDDL vessel units and provides spatial representations of data and vessel activities (using ‘OpenLayers’ and Google Maps). OlracDDM is secured via multiple access levels (browsing, editing and admin) and can distribute data and reports in ANY format, with automatic verification, authentication and validation of data and reports. Like OlracDDL, OlracDDM is highly customisable and currently used globally by companies, fleets, sector managers and national fisheries of various sizes.

Olrac Electronic Monitoring (OlracEM)

Olrac Electronic Monitoring – The solution provides a fully integrated Electronic Monitoring & Reporting (EMR) system, which links interval images taken by eEye directly to Olrac Dynamic Data Logger (Fisheries Data Logger) data entry tool. This allows for timely and accurate visual auditing of critical events during a fishing operation. The solution is linked to a GPS and can use any onboard transmission system to send reports

VALUE ADDED PRODUCTSIn addition, the business model for the Olrac eLog is to add value to data collected by the users of its electronic logbook technologies. We therefor offer the following add-on products to accompany our core solutions:

OlracMapper is an offline mapping utility for the spatial presentation and tracking of all vessels activities.

OlracGIS is a visual data analysis module specifically designed to work on the vessel with the OlracDDL database. It allows users to analyse subsets of data captured by OlracDDL. Any data can be presented in tabulated form, graphic charts or spatial charts (density maps).

OlracExplorer was designed to work alongside OlracDDM to provide an analysis of spacial data recieved from vessel units. It allows for the overall summarization of fleet activities, which can be presented in tabulated form, graphic charts or spatial charts.

OLSPS Bycatch Avoidance System  allows fishers to report their catch and bycatch, in real-time, electronically (using OlracDDL), to a central database (OlracDDM). These data will then be combined, standardised, anonymised and transformed into a CPUE areas. This allows fishers to to make real-time, informed decisions regarding where to fish in order to avoid or reduce the bycatch, and thus possibly the premature closing of the access area.

OLSPS EM Integration Model being tested by OLSPS Innovation Team includes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning based tools in order to allow for the automatic estimation of catch size, species breakdown and even distribution of fish caught based on EM provided images or videos. Furthermore, OLSPS is testing cutting edge satellite communication technologies that will significantly cut real-time transmission costs and may even allow for real-time transmission of EM images while vessels are still at sea.
